September 17th Is Constitution Day

Constitution Day is an annual U.S. holiday celebrated on September 17th to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787. Created by a bill from Senator Robert Byrd and signed into law in 2004, the day also serves as Citizenship Day. Under federal law, educational institutions and federal agencies receiving federal funds are required to provide educational programming about the Constitution and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship on this day.
